About Al Aitken

Al AitkenAl Aitken retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of active service as a fighter pilot and graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Test Pilot School. After the Marines, Al became a pilot for American Airlines. Immediately after September 11, 2001, he became heavily involved in the effort to arm our nation’s airline pilots to protect our national security and help prevent another terrorist hijacking. After 18 months of intensive effort, federal legislation was passed mandating the arming of our nation’s airline pilots. This led to more active involvement in political organizing, including as Chairman of the Culpeper County (Virginia) Republican Committee and as the Western Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia.
